If somebody links to your blog or rather pings you, you can see the pingback in your wordpress dashboard, but what if you don’t use wordpress and perhaps any CMS software?
Here the Google Blog Search comes into play. It lets us receive updates either by RSS or email as and when somebody links to our blog or site.
To set it up, Open Google Blog Search and search for link:yourblog.com. Linkbacks to your blog will be listed here. Scroll down the page, you will see three links,
From here you can create email alerts and add a RSS feed for linkbacks to your blog in Google Reader. The wordpress dashboard also uses this search engine and both of them will show the same results. But getting alerts by email has its own glory ;)
