Tired of all the Chrome buzz around? Feels like Google has nothing else than Chrome to rant about eh? And just in between, Google launches a beta version of Picasa 3.

Picasa is a popular photo management and editing software which also shines when it comes to sharing photos. My word for it is ‘the utimate photo management tool’. Along it, Picasa Web Albums is a online photo sharing site than make sharing photos and creating albums for friends and family very much easy.

Google has recently pushed some updates to Web albums like face recognition, tags and a new explore page which allows to browse through the popular content on the site. Picasa’s user interface has also been streamlined.

Coming to the next half of the story, Google pushed version 3 beta of Picasa for the public to try out. Among some of the features on the desktop app, my favorite is the sync feature with which we can sync certain albums on our pc with the web albums, just with a click of a button!

Below is a brief overview of other changes made in Picasa 3. #

  • Collage: Experiment with six different collage types and a slew of new settings in the more hands-on collage creation screen.
  • One-click Sharing: Why take two steps when you can do it in one? Upload an album to Picasa Web Albums and email invitations to friends and family with just one click.
  • Cropping: The Crop tool offers three crop suggestions based on the composition of your photograph. Don’t miss the 10 different dimensions to choose from when cropping.
  • Screensaver: Spice up your screensaver by pulling in pictures from additional photo sources, such as your Web Albums and photo feeds.
  • Importing: To help you import images from a particular day or event, Picasa now segments your images according to the time frame when they were taken.
