Yes! you read it right! Tweenky is relatively a newer twitter client ( Don’t tell me there are too many, this one is different ) that is web based. Currently it only works with twitter though support for other services is on its way.
The best part of Tweenky is…well it has 3 best parts:
- It has a Gmail like clean interface that you are already familiar with
- It has the search functionality of Twitter Search brilliantly built in
- It’s Ajaxified, so tweets just come rolling in, no refresh or reload!
You can create folders to save certain tweets or create a folder which a keeps a list of tweets for a certain search keyword. Lets see how it works:
- You performs a search, and command the results to land in a folder
- From now on, using Twitter Search’s functionality, all the results will come in to that folder. You can check them whenever you want.
As usualy, you can check your replies, archives, timeline and public timeline. You can send tweets from the top bar. Like twhirl, you can also re-tweet. A translation feature is also there.
Tweenkly isn’t any revolutionary - All its features are available elsewhere, but the features available elsewhere are scattered amongs different services. Tweenkly brings them together in a package. Also the dev teak is working on integrating different twitter-like services into it. Indentica is already there at the time of writing.
Tweenkly is currently is private beta. When it releases to the public, i am sure the availability of different micro blogging services in one package, will make it a BIG thing ;)
I signed up for the service with the invite code “chewbocka“. You can try signing up with that, although i don’t guarantee that it will work. If it doesn’t, you can check for one with @derek
